WHY AN IN-HOUSE CHILDCARE?
·It's more cost-effective. Currently, we spend $40,000+ annually to provide 6 children with outside childcare. In-house childcare will allow us to serve more than double that number of kids at half the cost per child.
·More women will be able to participate in life-changing programs because they will have consistent childcare.
·It provides opportunity for women to look for housing and employment without the added concern of taking their children along.
·Consistent, quality childcare will ease the impact of homelessness on children up to 5 years old residing at Charis House.
·Childcare provides a sense of stability and safety for children.
·Enables us to provide experiences and educational enrichment that will help develop the children psychosocially, developmentally, emotionally and spiritually.
·It will allow us to do early interventions/assessments to link children to outside sources such as First Steps.
·It will give mothers a peace of mind knowing having the assurance that their children are being well cared for while they actively pursue the intensive program, or are seeking employment or housing.
·It will prevent transportation issues that many of our mothers face even daycare is provided externally.
·It can open the door to potential partnerships with other organizations/schools to provide the best possible care and enrichment experiences for our children.
·It will provide many more volunteer opportunities/more flexibility with more hours serving children.
